The Pic of the Week is drawn from photos submitted to the Solo Travel Society Facebook Group, providing an opportunity for solo travelers to share with us a favorite photo from their travels.
This week’s photo of the many layers of shale on the Lerner Islands in Svalbard was shared with us by STS member Susan. Of her solo trip to Norway, Susan says, “There’s no doubt in my mind that the highlight for me was participating in a photography workshop at the end of my trip. A small group of like-minded photographers sailed around Spitsbergen together on a tall ship. Svalbard is north of the Arctic Circle and the scenery and wildlife was spectacular and most certainly memorable. Almost all my solo adventures include a photography workshop at some point, but this was a standout.” You can see more of Susan’s travel photography on instagram, @justwanderin.
