Reasons to Visit Crete
Crete is the largest of the Greek islands and the southernmost point of Europe. You can experience a Mediterranean island rich in culture, history and mythical legend.
Vassilis says: Visit the historical Venetian Harbour in Chania City with its many fish tavernas and lively bars creating a vibrant atmosphere both day and night. Walk Samaria Gorge, the longest in Europe, set in the heart of the White Mountains. Discover the legend of King Minos and the Minotaur at the world famous archaeological site of Knossos Palace.
Marilyn says: There is a singles resort on Crete, the Mistral Hotel, that caters exclusively to solo travelers. I found lots of like-minded people there, and had great fun. Dinners are social events, and there are lots of trips around the beautiful island of Crete. The food is great, featuring authentic Cretan cuisine with organic vegetables from their own garden. This was my 6th year visiting Crete, and it will certainly not be the last!
