Solo travel rating: 1 (1 is easiest, 4 is most difficult. Please see chart below)
Languages spoken: German, French, Italian, English
Reasons to go:
- Spectacular scenery wherever you look.
- Many accommodation choices.
- Ease of transport – all running on time, well connected and the timetables are easy to understand.
- Amazing train journeys.
- Hiking and walks, many great for solo wandering.
- Easy access to Alps and lakes.
- Cheese!
- Chocolate!
I recommend travelling during the shoulder season when rates are lower and crowds are fewer.
