I took this photo while wandering around Amsterdam. It was grey and rainy much of the time, but even still, I fell in love with the city and want to return when I have more time to stroll around, sit at outdoor cafes, and explore its artistic side. I took this photo from a bridge, but I also took a couple of boat tours of the canals in Amsterdam, which I highly recommend for a different perspective.
This photo was taken by STS member Abigail from the Balcón de Europa (Balcony of Europe), a large, round balcony on a cliff in Nerja, Spain.
This photo from her first trip to Europe was submitted by Christina. It was taken at Lake Bled in Slovenia, one hour north of Ljubljana. Says Christina, “My goal was to hike around the entire lake. It was breathtaking. After getting there and that walk with a nice lunch in between overlooking this island….I knew I could travel alone and be happy. No more waiting for a boyfriend or best friends to go with me. I did it and it was the best decision I could have made!”

This pic was shared with us by Connie, who took it while on a solo trip to Switzerland. “The fall colors are just from walking around the town of Murren, where I stayed, taking in the views and wonderful sunshine. In this photo, I was gazing at the Eiger and Monch (in clouds) and a tiny portion of the Jungfrau peak.”
