I arrived in Costa Brava, Spain, one day before the five other travel bloggers with whom I would share a five day trip through the region.
I love my time with bloggers but, as you know, I also love to travel solo. I like to explore a city, meet people and get lost my own way. By arriving early, I had it both ways.
I arrived on a Sunday, the first weekend of the Girona Temps de Flors, the Festival of Flowers. It is this festival that put Girona on National Geographic’s 10 Best Spring Trips list for 2012.
Exhibits indoors and out attracted locals and local tourists – I heard a lot of French spoken which is not surprising as Girona is within an hour of the French border.
The interior displays involved many differnet kinds of flowers in arrangements. Outside were installations that usually focused on just one kind of flower. I liked these best for the intensity of the colour and impact of the repetitive designs. Enjoy.
Thanks to Costa Brava tourism for making this trip possible.
