Before I left for Jordan, Tracey, the editor here at Solo Traveler, put in a request.
So, it wasn’t long after my arrival that I asked my guide, Mahmoud, if a trip to a spice shop could be on the tour.
“Aqaba,” he said. “That’s where to buy spices.”
But that wasn’t the only place that I enjoyed the wonders of Jordan’s spices. From the Zatar I ate every morning to the Mezze starters at every meal to the fish and meat, wonderful, aromatic spices were every where. Here’s a glimpse into Jordan, all spiced up.

I was a guest of Visit Jordan on this trip. They did not influence the experiences or opinions I have chosen to share on Solo Traveler.
