Aaran House Tourist Hostel
I loved this hostel because it feels like you are living in someone’s home. Tracy, the woman who owns and runs the hostel, is super friendly and makes sure all the people staying in the hostel are comfortable and treated respectfully. She loves to talk about her country and loves to meet people, and is also very generous. She was great to stay with! My room was co-ed, with comfy bunk beds, a locking door and a bathroom. I felt that leaving my things in my room was safer than any other hostel I have stayed at. There was also a nice common room, and fast WiFi access in all the rooms. There was also a kitchen where lodgers can make food, and a fridge in which to keep it. This hostel is almost right across the street from the train station, yet is quiet. Also, it’s a fast walk to downtown Cork and the Bus Eirrean station.

Mount Brandon Hostel
This has to be one of the best hostels in Ireland. Fantastic service for weary backpackers doing the Dingle way, to offering families full service. The costs and service are great as well, and the staff will go above and beyond to help with all travel/hiking needs(like picking you up in Dingle!). The hostel has one of the best free breakies, and sits right next to two fantastic pubs! Make this your base for a few days while hiking Mt Brandon and surrounding hills.

Hideout Hostel
In Dingle Ireland accommodations are plentiful with the full range of comfort and convenience from boutique hotels, charming B&Bs, homey Farm Stays, and very affordable Hostel stays. I had the pleasure of resting my weary bones at the Hideout Hostel. Located down a quiet, yet commercial side street, this hostel exceeded the preconceptions I had! Michael (pronounced Meehal in Irish) is the proprietor. He is a local young man who has mastered the art of hospitality and provides a very clean and comfortable space that is safe from crazy weekend parties. Hideout Hostel is full of friendly travelers of all ages and nationalities. At the time of my visit the cost was only
20 Euros with continental breakfast.

It’s hard to capture how truly wonderful this place is. From the moment I walked in the door, I was treated like an old friend. A tea tray in front of the peat-burning fireplace, a little chat with Noel about my holiday...lovely. My room was absolutely stunning. I tried to pick my jaw up off the floor as I was ushered into my separate sitting room and then into the bedroom. The sitting room had a full-size couch with designer chair and ottoman, and a stained-glass window. The breakfast was so different from other breakfasts I’ve had around Europe. In most places, very few people take the chance to chat with you or get to know you, but here Noel facilitates such great conversations and shares such inviting stories that you can’t help but be friendly.
