Hostal Entre Amigos

It is situated in the middle of the most beautiful city in Nicaragua! The owners have a small handicraft shop at the same place. They are really friendly and artistic, and the hostel is clean and full of flowers. There are bunk beds, one bedrooms and double rooms where you also can bring children.

Luna International Hostel

Luna International Hostel

This is centrally located. There is Cafe Luz across the street with free coffee and great food and Tree Huggers Tourism nearby. It is easy to book trips to Mira Flora and other places and one can leave luggage at the Cafe. The dorm is a little crowded but ok. There are private rooms. An English woman runs the place and is very accommodating. This is a great place to meet other travelers and use as a base for other day or overnight trips.

Finca Mystica

Finca Mystica

Finca Mystica is worth the ferry ride and drive required to get to it. It is in a beautiful setting but the highlight is listening to and watching the howler monkeys. The butterflies, especially the blue Morphos are mesmerizing. An American couple owns and runs it. Food is excellent and freshly made. The dorm has queen size beds with storage lockers. There are also cute cabins to rent. There are lots of activities to choose from and guided trips available. It is also fun just to hang out.

Hostel Paradiso

Hostel Paradiso

This is a great place. The sunrises are spectacular. The water is warm and very soothing to swim in. Shuttles can be arranged from Granada. Buses bring people in for the day. The dorm was fine and has plenty of room. Private rooms are also available. There is a full bar and kitchen. The food is incredible. They have wood-fired pizza on weekends. There are lots of people who like to party but they’re not annoying. The staff speaks English. This is a very relaxing place to spend some time.

La Buena Onda

This is an affordable, safe and well-located hostel. There are private rooms available. Food is also available and there is a cooler with pop and beer to purchase. The dorm has an adjacent room with large lockers to secure items. There is a balcony for smokers. The staff are very friendly and speak English. It is easy to book tours with a local guide. I would highly recommend this place.

Somoto Canyon Tours

Somoto Canyon Tours

This is a great place to enjoy a local accommodating family and enjoy nature. The canyon is beautiful and very relaxing. There is every kind of fowl running around on the property. They have several rustic rooms available and offer various tours of Somoto Canyon. The guides are excellent. It’s just a few miles from the Honduran border and easy to access by bus or taxi. All meals can be ordered and made in the kitchen. The family speaks only a little English.
