If you are a train enthusiast or model builder you will love Miniatur Wunderland. It will be heaven.
If you're not, as I'm not, there is one very surprising aspect of this massive display that just about anyone will find fascinating. I actually tested this theory on a few people and discovered it true.
In the least busy area of Miniatur Wunderland are 7 dioramas of the area around Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin showing the changes that occurred there between 1945 and 1989. It reveals in amazing detail the political, social and physical transformation of the creation and destruction of the Berlin Wall – perhaps the most well known symbol of the cold war.
There is much detail in these dioramas so the photos don't quite do them justice but please have a look.
