Reasons to Visit Connemara
- Kylemore Abbey: Currently owned and run by Benedictine nuns the abbey was originally built as a gift from Mitchell Henry to his wife in the 19th century. In addition to the Abbey there's a miniature Gothic Church and a Victorian walled garden. This is where we stopped for lunch.
- Leeann Village: The 1990 film “The Field” was filmed there. It's a tiny village and so charming.
- An Spidéal: This village hosts students wanting to learn Irish. It has many traditional thatched roof homes and beautiful beaches.
